Modern art in NYC
The Moma (acronym for The museum of modern art) and the Guggenheim are without contest the most famous and popular modern art's museum.During my NY trip, I just stepped into Guggenheim's hall but visited the Moma (even if the visiting pace was more than fast).
By last June, there was a big exhibition called Rising Currents: Projects for New York’s Waterfront related to the future of New York with the potential effect of global warming on sea level and the work of several architects to face it.
On the painting rooms, I saw with great pleasure some Andy Warhol's works, especially the soup cans!
I also added pieces to my Magritte's collection after my visit previously this year, in Brussels.
Still on the surrealist floor, one of the masterpiece of Dali, The Persistence of Memory caught my eyes by its dimensions (24 cm × 33 cm); I was expecting a great table, how disappointed I was to see it, barely bigger than a big stamp!
Writing this post, and browsing Moma's Website, I discovered there was a studio called Moma PS1 which is an exhibition space in Long Island. Another reason to pack again to NYC...
