Tate Modern

6 years ago, I really discovered modern art, while I was roaming inside the Tate Modern.
I remember in the big hall, called the Turbine Hall (that museum has been erected at the end of the nineties in a former electric power station - same as Battersea in a way, they do have to make it as a museum as well...), there were huge metallic spiders but I can't remember the name of the artist.
Last month, the exhibit was from Miroslaw Balka and called How it is. It consists of a big black box around 3600 cubic meter with no light inside - in fact it's like a blackhole from the outside. The aim is to make you face your fear of the unknown, and keep you walking from the infinity of the darkness (that's my interpretation, I'm pretty sure everyone has a different one). You can stumble upon people walking inside, but once you reached the very end and you turn around there is little light and you can distinctly see the others coming in... Surprising experience!
In the other stages of the museum you have so called art (for examplde, a paint all in red without other effect) to Picasso's paints and other giants... Almost anyone can do modern art you just need to keep believe in what you do, whatever people think!
